8th graders taught 3rd grade!

On Friday, the 8th grade taught the 3rd grade a little more about the American Revolution. Both 3rd and 8th graders learned about the events of the Revolution. The 8th graders put together some Powerpoint presentations and some activities for the 3rd grade scholars. Everyone loved it and was so engaged!

Kindness Circle

In order to promote more kindness in the classroom, we had our first Kindness Circle. Scholars had to compliment someone or thank them for something.

Declaration of Independence

The scholars pretended to be the Founding Fathers and wrote the beginning part of the Declaration of Independence. It was challenging, but they were determined and finished one of the most important documents in history!

Candy Heart Science Expirement

Scholars experimented o see what would happen when you put candy hearts in three liquids. The liquids we used were water, soda, and vinegar. Scholars noticed the vinegar changed the candy hearts the most. Also, the cups changed colors depending on what color candies were in there.

Scholars tested out magnets on different surfaces to see if it was magnetic or not. We learned that magnets stick on metals.

Toy Cars & Friction

Scholars tested a toy car on 8 different surfaces to see what had the most or least amount of friction. Some of those toy cars traveled a far distance!

Indoor Recess Fun!

The scholars have been enjoying many different activities during indoor recess. Some of them have been playing Uno, Checkers, Mancala, and working on an USA puzzle.
