Today scholars used candy pumpkins and toothpicks to build the tallest structure they could. It was challenging as some of the towers had a difficulty staying strong. Other challenges included toothpicks breaking and the jelly pumpkins being sticky. It was a great activity in teamwork and persevering!

Ms. Cillo, from Boston Water and Sewer came to our class to teach us about water and how to keep the sewers clean. Scholars learned that fats, oils, and grease should never go down the sink. Also, the only thing that should be flushed is toilet paper. Tissues and flushable wipes do not go down the toilet!

Fred the worm had drowned and we needed to save him. In order to save him, we had to rescue Fred and get him back in his life preserver. Scholars used a cup, 4 paper clips, a gummy life saver, and a gummy worm. They all realized they needed to use the paperclips to stretch out the gummy life saver in order to get Fred inside. Great work!
